You never know who you are going to meet at Mimi's.
I can tell you the elements of this venue that make it feel magical. It is a dark and wooded bar that provides two floors with ample space to mingle, eat, and dance. The drinks are reasonable, not cheap but happy hour is worth the stop. Pool and darts are readily available for free on the first floor. The food.... oh my goodness... the food. Tapas style and never disappointing and the kitchen is open fairly late.

Friendly staff in a creepy old building. Don't let the exterior fool you, best drinks and tapas in Marigny.

I really enjoyed my visit here. Their $4 sangria was delicious and I had several more of them than I had intended to. The bartender was very friendly and I enjoyed the conversation with him as well as the suggestions he made. I got a couple small plates (the steak and mushroom empanadas that were delicious), Thanks you!

Best food (lamb chops & goat cheese balls) which happens to be at a bar. Bartenders are great on the drinks, so get the Trust Me & let them surprise you with a tasty concoction.

Mimi's is the perfect place to wine down on a Friday night, whether you are there for a birthday party or a first date.

You really can't beat the food here, especially the "trust me" (a dish so named because you don't know what it is until it gets placed in front of you). On Halloween it was deep fried pork tenderloin. like chicken tenders but better! A giant portion w two yummy sauces (one sweet, one creamy) in the bottom of the bowl. Come here with friends and order everything

Best tapas around with a split level bar for different moods. Downstairs when you walk in there are old school video game consoles and a pool table. Upstairs is more of a restaurant feel with tables. Both up and down have a bar and great menu for vegetarians and meet eaters alike that never gets old because you can always order the "trust me".

Mimi's was amazing! It was the highlight of all the things we've experienced in New Orleans in the several times we've visited. The tapas were not just food, they were an experience. The flavor combinations were inspired, from the tangy cheese served with the poached and grilled pear to the mushroom manchego toast. The energy was electrifying and infused us with the feel of the city. Highest recommendations for Mimi's on every level!
